The SWATCH FIVB World Championships in Stavanger will be the jewel in the crown of the 2009 SWATCH FIVB World Tour Lausanne, October 6, 2008 – Following a successful annual FIVB Beach Volleyball World Council meeting in Lausanne, the FIVB is close to confirming the 2009 SWATCH FIVB World Tour calendar. The calendar will be rubberstamped by the end of October after some of the host National Federations and tournaments’ promoters sign the necessary protocols. World Council members and the FIVB also advanced in the preparation of the 2010-2012 calendar leading towards the London Olympics in 2012. The 2009 SWATCH FIVB Men’s and Women’s World Championships in Norway will be the main event of next season with US$1 million in prize money.
