First Trust Lists the First Wind Energy ETF on NYSE Arca

... NEW YORK , June 18, 2008 –NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced the launch of the first Wind Energy ETF, the First Trust ISE Global Wind Energy ETF (NYSE Arca: FAN). As an industry leader in ETF and ETN listings and trading, exchange traded products listed on NYSE Arca represent 56% of ETF and ETN assets under management in the U.S. , nearly $621 billion, the most of any exchange. FAN is designed to track the performance of the ISE Global Wind Energy Index. The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its assets in common stocks that comprise the Index or in depository receipts representing securities in the Index. The Index provides a benchmark for investors interested in tracking public companies throughout the world that are active in the wind energy industry based on analysis of the products and services offered by those companies.
