He succeeds Dr. Ulrich Schaefer-Luederssen, who died unexpectedly in April earlier this year.Dr. Burkhart was born in Bruchweiler, Germany, in 1962. After completing his chemistry studies with a doctorate in organic chemistry at Kaiserslautern University, he joined BASF in 1990 where he was initially involved in surfactant research.
