Revenue rose by 15.0 per cent to ¤825.5 million (H1 2007: ¤717.7 million) on the back of the strong performance in Europe and continued growth in Asia. Unit sales advanced by 10.5 per cent to 148,687 engines (H1 2007: 134,619). The improvement in revenue was one of the main reasons why earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) rose by 7.9 per cent to ¤43.6 million in the first half of 2008 (H1 2007: ¤40.4 million).
