... I want to congratulate the CEC board. It is a well- done thing. I am very glad of this moment which marks the ascending trend that CEC has been recording for some time. I shall refer in a few words to this latest evolution, which is marked by a new beginning since the failure of the privatization. For me, the failure of CEC privatization was not quite a failure for us. We believed it is a new challenge and on that moment, we realized we can assign to CEC an ambitious objective, namely to meet to an important extent the needs of the Romanian economy and society. I do not doubt that the privatization would have been a successful operation for a future owner that certainly would have sought profit at CEC.
